- ➤ Thompson Fire arson suspect Spencer Grant Anderson appeared in Butte County Superior Court on Wednesday with his new attorney Larry Pilgrim—who asked to set the jury trial for August 25 and applied for a 10-day mental health diversion—while noting no new evidence has come to light. KRCR
- ➤ Curtis Ector Morales, 43, from Hurleton was arraigned on felony murder charges in Butte County after allegedly fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend Dakota Morningstar on April 13 in Oroville—she had returned to his property to collect her personal belongings. KRCR
- ➤ Chico Police arrested 35-year-old Christian Roberts on attempted murder charges after he stabbed a man in the chest at Depot Park early Wednesday, and officers took the victim to a local hospital for surgery while Roberts was booked on an outstanding CDCR parole warrant. Action News Now
