- ➤ Construction is underway on the new Chico Bike Park along Humboldt Road between Forest Avenue and Notre Dame Boulevard—planned to open in 2026 with biking trails, a pump track and community amenities. The $5 million project is fully funded by the Lupine Legacy Foundation and is expected to fill a local recreational gap. Action News Now
- ➤ On Saturday, July 19, the annual Christmas in July Summer Butte County Toy Run begins at Sierra Steel Harley Davidson on Mangrove Avenue in Chico with check-in from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. — A free lunch will follow after the ride around Butte County. Action News Now
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A bus crash near White Avenue closed the southbound Highway 99 offramp at East Avenue and injured two people while officials have not confirmed when the road will reopen. Action News Now

- ➤ In Berry Creek, deputies responded on July 10 to reports of an armed individual and detained 56-year-old Chuebee Moua after stopping his vehicle, which led to a search that uncovered a semi-automatic pistol and high-capacity magazines — he now faces charges of criminal threats, false imprisonment, and assault with a deadly weapon. - ➤ Chico Police are asking residents to help identify seven persons of interest captured in photos related to separate ongoing investigations so that tips can be submitted by calling (530) 897-4911 with the corresponding photo number. Action News Now
