If you drive in Paradise, expect one lane closed. PG&E began construction Monday between Bille Road and Arrowhead Drive, with traffic controls, message boards and a pilot car guiding you through, and overnight detours begin Nov. 30.

  • Work runs through July 2027
  • Night detour: Bille Rd. to Pearson Rd. via Sawmill Rd.
  • Daytime work: Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Final road restoration: end of 2027, weather permitting

The work is part of PG&E's 2019 pledge to move distribution power lines underground in Paradise and parts of Magalia. The company says it has already undergrounded more than 95% of Paradise and will finish in 2028. Next come cables through the conduit and a switch to underground service for customers in 2027, then removing or shortening poles and taking down overhead lines.

one of my neighbors keeps their dogs outside 24/7 in these small cages.

“They are covered thankfully and have a dog house inside so I don’t think they’re breaking any laws there. However, the dogs pee and poop all over the cages and the smell is unbearable. After the cages are full they rinse it into the drain so it’s going into our water systems. Is there someone I should contact about…”
